Abstract
The largest of 3,200 islands in the Riau Archipelago, Bintan is also the third largest of the 33 provinces in Indonesia. This beautiful Island is located just 45 kilometers south east of Singapore and twice its size. Bintan Island is becoming the new attraction not only for domestic tourists and from neighboring Singapore, but also a hidden jewel among jewels for the rest of the world. There's a quaint charm about the island, a mixture of a traditional rural way of life and sophisticated urban lifestyle. A portion of the island is full of expensive resorts that offer luxurious services, from pampering spa to a challenging golfing experience in lush surroundings. Another side of island is still relatively untouched and undiscovered, home to quaint fishing villages and isolated off-beat beaches.
