Abstract

Sambungmacan Site is one of Pleistocene Site in Jawa, Located in the riverbank of Bengawan Solo. Sambungmacan Site is an important Site to study the series of Early Man Stories and the environments at along Bengawan Solo River. At the Site, have been found 4 Homo erectus speciment consists of 3 skull and tibia, various animal fossil, and ancient fauna fossils. The information was gain from the report of two stone tools finding in 1975 in the form of flake tools and chopper from the Kebun Formation.
Since the two findings, there is no new information about artifact from Sambungmacan Site. The research on site potential on 2013 by BPSMP Sangiran has resulted in some artifact. There are 8 kinds of artifacts, those are, stone tools, flake, core stone, big flakes, four-squared pickaxe, bone tools, and adze, wood fossil adze. Those artifact are found in surface survey, excavation, and locals collection. The identification on the technique making indicate some techniques such as direct pruning, cleaving, indirect pruning, scraping technique. The located observation display the stone tools and stone flakes artifact from Sambungmacan Site, but other artifacts needed to be identified.
